🍿 Stremio Watch Party

Watch web.stremio.com in perfect sync with a friend. Both of you install this once.

⬇ Download the extension (.zip)

Install (Chrome · Edge · Brave — desktop)

  1. Unzip the download — you get a stremio-watch-party folder.
  2. Open chrome://extensions and switch on Developer mode (top-right).
  3. Click Load unpacked and pick that folder. Pin the 🍿 icon.

Use it

Host Play something on web.stremio.com → click the icon → Create a room → Copy invite link → send it.
Friend Click the link — it opens Stremio, joins the room and jumps to the same stream automatically.

Either of you can play, pause or seek — it syncs both ways. Picking a stream or the next episode moves you both together. In Edge, the extensions page is edge://extensions.

Optional: Windows app

Want Stremio Web as its own app with local transcoding? Download the Windows launcher — one double-click starts Stremio Service, opens web.stremio.com in an app-style window (no tabs or address bar), and stops the service again when you close it. Unzip, run StremioWebParty.bat setup once to install this extension into it, then use the Silent shortcut. Inside the app window, use the extension's on-page 🍿 button (bottom-right) to create or join parties — the toolbar popup doesn't exist there. Details in the included README.
